Install the Microsoft 365 apps
Download and install Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint on your PC.
Do this once you know your plan includes the installed apps. If you are not sure, read Which licence do I need? on this page first.
- Go to microsoft365.com/apps and sign in with the account that holds the licence.
- Click Install apps at the top right, then Microsoft 365 apps.
- A file called
OfficeSetup.exedownloads. Open it when it finishes. - The installer runs on its own and takes several minutes. Leave it alone until it says it is finished.
- Open Outlook from the Start menu or Applications folder.
- Sign in with the account that holds the licence. If you are using a Personal or Family subscription, sign in with that personal account first, then add your work mailbox second.
- Follow the Microsoft 365 email guides on this site to add your mailbox.

You can install the apps on up to five computers, five tablets and five phones with the one subscription, so your work PC and home laptop are both covered.
Windows installs the 64-bit version by default, which is the right choice. Do not go hunting for the 32-bit version unless we have specifically told you to.
